Faruk Özaltın: "We Trust in Our Investment, Our Services for The Market and Scania"
In his interview with our Magazine, Özaltın Ağır Vasıta Chairman Faruk Özaltın has stated that they are not strangers to the heavy-duty vehicle sector and said: "We chose this region because we thought that the sector had a potential in Kayseri."
Özaltın has indicated that they have been working with Scania for many years in the logistics sector: "For many years, we've been both trading and providing logistics with heavy-duty vehicles. We haven't had anything other than Scania vehicles in our fleet for a long time in our logistics company. We thought that there is a potential in Kayseri region in terms of both service and sales and we've reasoned that it has a much different customer portfolio and that we can serve a lot more customers here. That's why we chose Kayseri for our facility."
"Doğuş Otomotiv Gave Us a Lot of Support"
Özaltın has also shared details about the recently inaugurated facility: "Our service area and sales building have been established on a total of 20 thousand square meters. We have an indoor space of 4 thousand square meters while 2 thousand 500 square meters of that is allocated as service space and one thousand 500 square meters of it serve as a showroom and sales building. Our staff is highly experienced and qualified in the sector. Doğuş Otomotiv gave us a lot of support for technical personnel and employees of the service shop, as well as marketing in the sales department. We trust in the team we've created through such support, our investment, our services for the market and Scania."
"We Believe That Commerce Will Recover"
Özaltın has also assessed the first six months of 2018 and indicated that markets have been slower in 2018 compared to last year. With an optimistic approach, Özaltın said: "In terms of both service and sales, market conditions have setback further in 2018 compared to 2017, as both have been election years. However, we believe that the markets will open up for the future and that commerce will recover even more."

In his statement for MY TRUCK Magazine, Scania Marketing and Business Development Manager Adnan Yücel has indicated that Özaltın Ağır Vasıta has been built with an investment of nearly 15 million TL and for the recently inaugurated facility he said: "The facility we've proudly inaugurated today, has become one of the newest, most modern and perhaps one of the largest facilities in our Scania family."
"We Have the Capacity to Simultaneously Provide Service to About 20 Vehicles"
Yücel has stated that the service department in the facility is one of the most technologically advanced service departments in Europe: "The facility has been established on an area of nearly 20 thousand square meters. It has 4 thousand square meters of indoor space. Within that indoor space, there is a service area of 2 thousand 500 square meters. We have the capacity to simultaneously provide service to about 20 vehicles for after sales. There are central oil pumping units at the service department and we can completely digitally measure efficiency at this facility. There are 25 employees at the facility. These are specially trained and experienced employees that have been very meticulously recruited by Özaltın, along with our support." Yücel has stated that they have a total of 21 authorized sales and service points across Turkey with 16 of these offering both sales and service while 5 only offer service point services. He also explained the reason behind their choice of Kayseri: "Kayseri is a very important region for various reasons. Its very advanced industry and commerce as well as its position as a highly important transit location in the region, make Kayseri very significant for us and especially the heavy-duty vehicle sector. Özaltın Ağır Vasıta is our only dealership in Kayseri. We chose Kayseri due to its location between Nevşehir and Kayseri provinces that both have great potential and due to the fact that this route, which is where the dealership is located, is a very important transit road."
"We Have Very High Expectations From Özaltın"
Yücel has assessed the first six months of 2018 for the sector and talked about the future goals of their company. Yücel said: "This is a very important region. Especially the Özaltın Group is a very important family that we're collaborating here and believe to contribute us immensely as a dealership. It is a highly renowned family that has invested in various sectors and fields for many years. So, it is needless to say that we have very high expectations from them. Likewise, Scania's expectations from Turkey are just as high. About 4-5 years ago, we began our marketshares at 5 percent and today, we have reached nearly 11,5 percent. So, we've managed to double our marketshare in the last 5 years. If we look at tractor trucks, one of our strongest suits at Scania, we can see that we have almost tripled our marketshares. Currently, our tractor truck marketshare has reached 22 percent."
"Our Goal Is to Reach Around 20 Percent In 2020"
Yücel has indicated that this year has also been below average, just as last year. He has stated that they believe that the sector and commerce will increase in the future and that he thinks their company will receive a significant share from that. Yücel said: "We've been through an election and we believe that our country and economy will swiftly and steadily improve after these elections. We're making all of our investments accordingly. Today, we aim to achieve a marketshare of around 12 percent. Our goal is to reach around 20 percent in 2020." and emphasized that they want to strengthen their dealership network and expand their presence in parallel with their 20 percent marketshare goal, provided that they don't diverge from the economic realities.
"We Trust in The National Economy"
Yücel has also shared details about new dealerships they will inaugurate: "We want to have, perhaps not too many, but strong and focused dealership. One of the best examples for such dealerships in the Özaltın Ağır Vasıta we've inaugurated today." Lastly, Yücel has indicated that they trust in the country and the national economy: "We trust a lot in our own brand. Scania is the highest quality, most economic and most operational cost-efficient brand of this sector. We will do everything in our power to take such a good brand with such good dealerships, towards the 20-percent level that it deserves."
"It All Begins with Sales, Yet It Doesn't End There"
Yücel has also emphasized Scania's training for its employees: "For us, it all begins with sales, yet it doesn't end there. As this sector requires very important, very precise and very rapid responses, we have to provide all kinds of support to our customers in after-sales. For these reasons, it is important to have qualified and very well-trained employees in our after-sales section. As Scania, we offer very significant support to our dealerships in this regard. These aids may be in the form of on-site trainings, trainings at the headquarters or rotations at the headquarters. Additionally, we have digital trainings as well. We have a digital system called kompast at Scania where we can assign all the required trainings to our employees in after-sales. Then, we can follow up. And of course; in time, we can hierarchically sort our trained personnel among themselves. For example, we have technicians and master technicians. In order to become master technicians, they have to successfully complete various trainings. We invite our most successful colleagues to Scania's internationally held "Top Team" competition to help them participate at the competition on behalf of our country."

Özaltın Ağır Vasıta Sales Manager Mehmet Kökez has indicated that they are happy to join the Scania family and he believes that they will do great things together with Doğuş Otomotiv and Scania, and that they will achieve their goals.
"Our goal with Scania is to take our place among the top three. We're adjusting ourselves accordingly. We're designing all our programs to achieve that. We're motivating our team and our employees in line with this goal. We're aiming to become Scania's largest structure in Turkey." and stated that they have Scania's largest location in terms of plaza, showroom, sales and service sections. Kökez has indicated that they have five employees working at the sales department and said: "Our annual sales number is 150 units. We aim to increase that to 250 units and even higher. We're striving to professionally serve with our experienced team and large brand."
Kökez has stated that in addition to new vehicle sales, they also operate as a Thermo King and DOD brand: "We purchase the second-hand vehicles of our customers to help them renew their vehicles. We're trying to increase the value of our brand through such operations. We're offering complete service to meet all the needs of our customers." Lastly, Kökez has indicated that they purchase second hand vehicles from all brands, without distinction.
"TURKEY'S LARGEST SERVICE POINT AND PLAZA"
Özaltın Ağır Vasıta Service Shop Manager Emre Yıldız has stated that they are taking firm steps in the sector with their experienced employees and their strong structure in Kayseri.
Yıldız said: "We've entered the Scania family as the Özaltın family. We're taking firm steps in the sector with a service shop team of nearly 15 and an experienced staff of 25, as well as our strong structure in Kayseri." Yıldız has stated that they have a service shop section that has the capacity to maintain 40 vehicles within the same day and emphasized that as Özaltın, they have the largest service point and plaza in Turkey. Yıldız has underlined that all of their employees are experts of heavy-duty vehicles that have previously worked at Scania or different brands.

He said: "We have a highly available stock at our dealership to primarily offer much better service to our customers. One of Scania and Özaltın Ağır Vasıta's business partners, Osman Aflaz has made the first purchase of the facility on the day of the inauguration. Aflaz has been using Scania since 2014 and stated that he is very pleased with Scania for its fuel economy and durability. He has indicated that he doesn't go to any other brands: "Scania vehicles are comfortable, durable and powerful in every aspect. This brand has all the comforts that never tires the driver.
