Maysan Mando, which was founded in 1969 under the name of Maysan and is the first company to manufacture shock absorbers in Türkiye, was one of the companies in Automechanika Istanbul. He listened to Maysan Mando, who plays an active role in the development of the Turkish automotive market, from Öykü İmset, News Manager of My Truck Magazine, and Vecibe Kaplan Arslan, Maysan Mando Sales and Business Development Manager.
“We Produce Shock Absorbers for All Types of Vehicles, including Passenger, Light Commercial and Heavy Commercial”
Starting his speech with the establishment story of Maysan Mando, Arslan said that; “Maysan, which was founded in 1969, continued on its way as Maysan Mando as a result of the partnership agreement signed with the South Korean Mando Corporation in 1997, after the company joined the Çukurova Group.” Stating that they currently have 520 employees, Arslan continued as follows: “As Maysan Mando, we manufacture shock absorbers for all types of vehicles, including passenger cars, light commercial and heavy commercial vehicles. In addition to this, we continue our services in exports with a very strong work and solid steps.”
“Despite A Difficult Year, We Succeeded In Achieving Our Goals”
“We Guaranteed Triple Growth in Three Years”
Continuing his speech by stating that 2022 was a difficult year, Arslan made evaluations by saying that; “The year 2022 was a very difficult year. After the pandemic, all the balances have changed. Because of the Russia-Ukraine War, chip crisis, rising costs, inflation, energy crisis; many manufacturers left a difficult year behind. But we still managed to meet our targets. We continue to grow rapidly. We are now taking firm steps towards increasing our exports. We foresee a production of approximately 6 million units for this year, but we have aimed to grow three times in three years in the coming years and we have ensured this.”
“Our Competitiveness Is Increasing, We Are Getting Closer To Our Export Targets”
“The Stance of China and the Withdrawal of the European Manufacturer from Russia Gave Us Advantage”
Expressing that they look at 2023 positively, Arslan continued by saying that; “The increase in foreign exchange is positive for exporters because our competitiveness is increasing. This brings us closer to our export target. As a shock absorber product group, it is on the lucky side, which is highly demanded and not affected by electrification. Therefore, we can say that there is a rapidly growing demand. In addition, China's stance in the pandemic actually provided an advantage for us. Because Türkiye was discovered. Especially from abroad, Türkiye was chosen as an alternative to China. Apart from this, there is a serious demand from Russia as European manufacturers have withdrawn from there. Therefore, we look at the future positively in every way.”
“We Didn't Expect This Much From The First Day”
Concluding his speech by making evaluations about the participations to Automechanika Istanbul, Arslan said that; “We attended Automechanika with a team of about 10 people. We already knew it would be crowded but from day one, we didn't expect it to be this much crowded. Everyone missed being together and face-to-face communication. We know it makes a difference. We always hope to have such productive fairs.”
