In his presentation, Kerem Erman, Deputy General Manager of Otokar, underlined the 44 percent growth achieved by OTOKAR last year, while the market below 16 tons grew by 5 percent. He also stated that one out of every three vehicles is targeted to be the brand's vehicle, and pointed out that the momentum gained with 8.5 tons in 2020 and 12 tons in 2022 has continued to increase over the years. He said that with Otokar's 3-fold growth in the last four years, sales volumes of more than a thousand vehicles were reached in 2023.
Otokar Commercial Vehicles Sales Director Murat Tokatlı stated that the vehicles were developed entirely according to the needs and demands of the market, and that the vehicles will increase its assertiveness in the market with OTOKAR ATLAS brand logistics and service vehicles with high torque, minimum fuel, chassis resistant to corrosion and reinforced with cataphoresis, standard rear lift axle, air brake, front and rear disc brake, mirrors that increase the visibility, special suspension system, pneumatic driver's seat, ergonomic front panel and in-cabin equipment, special financial solutions and 7/24 service.
Tokatlı emphasized that export-oriented activities continue with distributorships established in 7 countries mainly in Eastern Europe and that the number of countries will increase further in the coming period.
It was also stated that Otokar is prepared for all alternative fuel technologies other than diesel, such as electricity and hydrogen, in addition to the importance it attaches to R&D.

With the transition to the Euro 6 norm, we developed and renewed our Sales-Marketing, R&D and dealer organization in accordance with the truck product as well as the cabin we renewed and the superior technical equipment we added to the vehicle.”

Continuing his words, Tokatlı said the that; “In line with all the work done, the success of a 44 percent sales increase came naturally, and we have realized the year 2023 in such a way that one out of every five vehicles sold in the market will be Otokar branded. Our target is that one out of every three vehicles sold in the market will be Otokar branded. The light truck market consists of vehicles between 7.5 and 15 tons. Previously, we had 8.5-ton and 12-ton vehicles in the market. What we lacked were 11- and 15-ton vehicles. It has been in our plans for a long time to complete our deficiency and fully participate in the market. As a result of a long R&D work, we finally adapted our vehicles to the conditions in Turkey and organized our sales and service network accordingly. Today, we proudly present our vehicles here. At the same time, at our 4x4 event, in addition to the four-year unlimited warranty, we are also offering our users four maintenance gifts until June. We are the only brand in this class that offers unlimited warranty.”

Stating that they conducted very serious research before launching the vehicles to the market, Tokatlı continued his words as follows; “We listen to our customers, we research the market, we see what is needed and what is not. Before presenting our vehicles, we complete all kinds of deficiencies and put them on the market. From this point of view, we also saw some deficiencies in the market. For example, in our 15-ton vehicle, we are the only brand whose rear lift axle can be purchased by the customer as ten-wheel factory production. After purchasing the vehicle, our customer can easily use it without making axle modifications. In 6x2 10-wheel vehicles, we provide the rear axle as a standard lifting axle. Thus, our customers will be protected from an additional cost to have these works done after purchasing the vehicle.”

This both prevents rust and increases the life and strength of the metal.” Continuing his words, Tokatlı said that; “We have come a long way in Otokar's ten-year service journey in municipality type vehicles. We believe that we will get a significant share from the logistics industry with this tonnage.”

Sharing his predictions and opinions about alternative fuel vehicles, Tokatlı said that; “Otokar's R&D is very strong. Just like on the bus side, we are also well versed in alternative fuel vehicles in terms of different technologies. The same situation applies to the truck group as well as the bus side. Interest in alternative fuel vehicles is increasing in both the Turkish and European markets and will continue to increase. We continue our necessary work in this direction uninterruptedly.”
