Stating that Yüksel Logistics, which was founded in 1968 and formerly known as Varan Transport, gained its new corporate identity in 1994, Stating that they are one of the companies that have a say in their region Yüksel explained the services and infrastructure they provide for our readers; “We have four branches in Mersin, the headquarters in Mersin, and in Istanbul, Izmir and Iskenderun. We chose port cities because our foreign trade customers have operational needs in those regions. We do domestic transportation and international land transportation. At the same time, we have recently established our maritime company called MAY Shipping. We provide all logistics services from the production site to the end consumer. We have nearly 40 self-owned trucks. Among these, we have refrigerated and tilt trucks, container trailers, clamshell trailers and even panel vans. We have all the services in-house. We strive together with our next generation to become a company that will have a say in the national and even international arena.”

Continuing his speech, Yüksel explained the regions they transport as follows; “We carry out transportation all over Europe. On the return to Europe, we carry out 3rd country transportation such as Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Iraq, Iran, Armenia. Our starting point is Turkey and Europe.”

Stating that they continued their investments last year, Yüksel said the following: Last year, we added 10 Thermo King trucks to our fleet. Last year, we intended to take a step into the international arena and we succeeded. At the same time, we established our maritime company and concentrated on it. We realized these in line with the incoming demands. Our customers started to expect door-to-door delivery service from us, and we completed this service by establishing our maritime company. We opened container yards at two locations, 10 and 13.5 acres. We wanted to say 'We are also present and have a say' in maritime transportation. We invested in equipment and machinery. Our slogan is 'Growing Support'. As we invest, we grow and our customers grow too.”

“MIP Needs to Make an Investment that can Meet the Needs of the Transporters as soon as possible”

Stating that Mersin is at a very critical and strategic point in terms of the region, Yüksel concluded his words as follows; “It is a gateway to the Middle East and the Turkic Republics. This region can also grow on its own. However, we also want local administrators to contribute to the growth of Mersin. Because we expect support for the creation of local container sites and the opening of places marked as logistics and storage areas for development as soon as possible. Apart from this, there are points where Mersin International Port Management (MIP) cannot keep up with our speed. When we look at it in this sense, it becomes clear that MIP should make an investment large enough to meet the needs of the transporter as soon as possible. There is currently a project to expand the port's dock. This will enlarge our Mersin port approximately two and a half times. It's a little late, but hopefully we will talk about other things in the coming years. Mersin has become one of Turkey's logistics centers, we hope it will be the most important. Mersin is a logistics city. We expect support from our government and local administrators for this unconfined identity of our city.”
