“We Have Completed 51 Years in the Industry”
“We Established Our Brand in the Tanker Industry With a Single Product”
Describing Şahin Tanker, founded in 1973, for our readers, Çelik said that; “We have completed 51 years in the industry. This gives us great experience. The biggest feature that sets us apart from other companies in our 51-year history is that we focus on a single product, thus never compromising on quality and establishing our brand in the tanker industry.”
We Are the Only Company in Turkey and the 3rd in the World"
Continuing by providing information about their production infrastructure, Çelik said that; “Currently, we carry out our production with fully automated robots. In this regard, we are the only company in Turkey and the 3rd in the world. We take pride in this. It demonstrates our respect for our work and our commitment to quality.”
“We Are Expecting to Move to Our New Factory in 2024”
“We Have Services in Every Region of Turkey and Abroad”
Stating that they produce all tanker models both as vehicle-mounted and trailers, and that their production meets European standards due to their investments in robots, Çelik continued as follows: “We have established our brand in Turkey and many countries. In a few years, we plan to establish our brand in Europe through various investments. These investments include new robots, new machines, and a new factory. Our factory investment is nearing completion; we anticipate moving to our new factory in 2024. This investment will increase our production by 50%. Regarding our service network, we have specialized services in every region of Turkey. As a brand established in Turkey, our products are available even in the most remote cities and districts. Therefore, we have services located near all filling facilities. We are also expanding our service network internationally and opening service centers in some countries. We have a separate team for international operations that actively organizes both sales and service networks. This way, we provide our customers with fast and high-quality service.”
“Turkey Has Started to Gain Influence in the Trailer Industry Worldwide”
Sharing their position in the current competitive landscape where local manufacturers are competing head-to-head with global brands, Çelik said that; “After the pandemic, Turkey made a rapid advancement in the trailer sector and started to gain influence worldwide. We need to take advantage of this opportunity by continuing to produce high-quality, world-standard products and maintain our prominence. As a company, we are also working on establishing our brand globally and solidifying our position through high-quality services and a strong vision.”
“We Officially Certify That We Meet World Standards by Producing All Our Products with ADR Certification”
Mentioning that they are one of the companies closely following the technology, Çelik said that; “If we want to be a global brand, we have to do this. What sets our products apart from other trailers is that our tankers are used for transporting hazardous materials. This requires us to exercise extra caution in our production. Additionally, all our products undergo tests by a third-party organization. We also officially certify that we meet world standards by producing all our products with ADR certification.”
“We Export to Four Continents and 24 Countries”
“We Will Have More Influence in Europe”
Regarding the export aspect, he said that; “50% of our production is geared towards export. We export to four continents—Europe, Asia, South America, and Africa—and 24 countries. Our plans for the near future include gaining more influence in Europe and becoming a global brand.”
“Turkish Trailer Industry Experienced Its Golden Year Last Year”
“We Are More Hopeful for Next Year”
Evaluating the past year, this year, and the upcoming period in terms of the sector and brands, Çelik said that; “The Turkish trailer industry experienced its golden year last year. This year has been quieter compared to last year due to global economic difficulties. However, I would like to say that we are more hopeful for next year.”
“Inspections Are Not Sufficient”
“Companies Need to Have Themselves Audited by a Third-Party Organization”
Sharing his views on the inspections conducted, Çelik said that; “I believe inspections in our industry are insufficient. In this context, it’s not just the government but also the companies themselves that need to put more effort into self-regulation and have themselves audited by a third-party organization. This not only keeps companies alert but also paves the way for their development. Sometimes, foreign companies also request this. However, even if we do not receive such a request from abroad, we, as a company, still have ourselves audited by an external, independent organization.”
Lastly, Çelik expressed that civil society organizations truly influence the sector as long as they are active, and he believes that TREDER also plays a guiding role in the industry.
